A pregnant Kelly Clarkson appeared on the Today Show on Tuesday and talked about her all-day morning sickness. She also said she and husband Brandon Blackstock have their baby name picked out already.
Anchor Savannah Guthrie asked the American Idol winner how she was feeling and she admitted she wasn’t feeling well.
“I don't know why they call it morning sickness. That's my big joke right now because it's all day and all night,” she explained, Us Weekly notes. “I am super-excited about being pregnant, though. I'm just looking forward to the second trimester . . . they say it's better."
Clarkson confirmed her pregnancy on Twitter earlier this month but admits they tried to keep it a secret until the end of the first trimester. She finally confirmed it because she had to cancel an event on account of being sick and she didn’t want anyone thinking she was bailing for no specific reason.
“I didn't want people to think I was canceling because I'm lazy or something, so we just told people,” she said,
As for her recent claims she knows she’s having a girl, she said there is a “scientific reason for it.” Clarkson explained, “they say if it's later after you ovulate I guess girl sperm lasts longer than boy sperm -- I don't know if that's true, my doctor told me that -- and I guess mine was late.”
In regards to the name, that will remain a secret but "we named our kid before we were even pregnant."
