The first showing of National Geographic's Killing Kennedy set viewing records the network.
The latest movie in the Killing franchise from Scott Free and Bill O'Reilly averaged 3.354 million viewers, Deadline reports. The show averaged a 1.1 in the 18-54 demographic.
The Rob Lowe-led TV movie beat Killing Lincoln's numbers of 3.351 million when it aired. The number of viewers set a record for a Nat Geo show.
Nat Geo president Howard Owens said, "Killing Kennedy demonstrated once again that our constant efforts to expand the type of programming National Geographic Channel presents is paying off."
According to TheWrap also was in the top 10 for social media conversations that are tracked by Trendrr and Social Guide. During the broadcast, #killingkennedy was also the number one trending topic.
Nat Geo's website also saw a surge in website visits, topping out at 2.1 million page views for the night, which was a record for the site.
"Killing Kennedy took what was accomplished with Killing Lincoln and elevated it to a national story," O'Reilly commented. "I could not be more pleased with the response and look forward to even more success with our next collaboration, Killing Jesus.
