If you were a fan of Lifetime networks show The Client List prepare the tears because the show has been canceled after two seasons.

TV Line was first to report the cancelation of the show by the Lifetime network.

Apparently the show was not doing well with views during season 2. According to Variety season one of the show averaged over 2 million views , but season two dropped down to 2 million views.

The Client List is about a single mother named Riley Parks, who works as a prostitute, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt. Hewitt was also executive producer on the show. Hewitt is known for playing Melinda Gordan, a woman with the ability to see and talk to the dead, on the supernatural show Ghost Whisper.

Deadline reported in June that there was tension, a creative standoff, between Hewitt and Lifetime and Sony Pictures, due to a request from the actress.

Hewitt wanted her real life fiancé, Brian Hallisay, to come on the show as the father of her child. The tension probably became too much and with the show’s slipping viewer numbers, Sony Pictures and Lifetime decided to cancel the show.

However, one of Lifetimes strong shows Drop Dead Divas has been renewed for another season and Lifetime appears to be entering into the realm of the supernatural with its new show Witches of East End, which stars Freddie Prince Jr.

So if you were a fan of the show you won’t get any closure, but you can watch reruns and create your own ending.
