CNBC anchor Maria Bartiromo, who embraced the nickname Money Honey and, is leaving the network to go to Fox Business Network and anchor a new show.
Bartiromo's contract with CNBC expires at the end of November and after briefly exploring her options with several networks, including CNN, has decided to go to the Fox business channel, Deadline reports.
There she would be an anchor for a market-hours program and would also be involved in the Fox News Channel.
The news anchor will be back with Roger Ailes, who ran CNBC when she was first hired. In 1993, she anchored Closing Bell and was the host of On the Money With Maria Bartiromo.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has not commented on the story. CNBC did release a statement saying, "After 20 years of groundbreaking work at CNBC, Maria Bartiromo will be leaving the company as her contract expires on November 24th."
The statement continues, "Her contributions to CNBC are too numerous to list but we thank her for all her hard work over the years and wish her the best."
She was known during her tenure at CNBC to be an expert in the market and financial news. She was the first reporter to broadcast from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, where she earned her nickname.
