Variety notes Hargitay is the only actor from the Law & Order franchise to win an Emmy. She announced in May that she would be returning for a 15th season. Her character Det. Olivia Benson is the heart of television’s longest-running drama.
“She has a lot of power on the show. “Luckily, she uses her power for good and not evil,” said showrunner Warren Leight.
Wolf told Hargitay at the ceremony, "I love you, you've done an incredible job. You are one of the icons of television, and certainly, I think the female icon for millions of women not only here, but all around the world.”
