Mark Wahlberg is clearing up any confusion that his comments at the premiere of Lone Survivor at the AFI Fest on Tuesday night were directed towards Tom Cruise.
While in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Wahlberg caught up with TMZ and said he wasn’t’ specifically targeting Cruise when blasting actors for acting like their job is more important than our soldiers.
"I didn't know that it was Tom Cruise that said that. Somebody just mentioned that people are [making that comparison]," he told TMZ. "I love Tom Cruise. I have much respect for Tom Cruise, but I have just as much respect for military guys, so it's just unfair for anybody to comment on that."
It all started when Cruise, 51, was asked if his grueling work schedule felt like being in Afghanistan. “That's what it feels like and certainly on this last movie it was brutal. it was brutal,” he replied.
Following that statement, Wahlberg said during a Q&A session, “For actors to sit there and talk about ‘oh I went to SEAL training’? I don’t give a f-ck what you did.”
“You don’t do what these guys did. For somebody to sit there and say my job was as difficult as being in the military? How f-cking dare you, while you sit in a makeup chair for two hours,” he continued.
