Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto has called out 19-year-old pop star Justin Bieber on Twitter, after the “As Long As You Love Me” singer tweeted that he had met Nieto and his family.

Bieber claimed to have met the president ahead of his show there, the only problem is – he didn’t.

In a tweet that has since been taken down, Bieber wrote "just met some amazing mexican beliebers and the presidente of mexico and his familia.” Nieto’s office’s official Twitter account quickly responded with a message.

“@Presidenciamx denies meeting between President @EPN with the singer @justinbieber,” the tweet read, which has also been taken down, Celebuzz reports.

Bieber again took to Twitter to explain that he had met the head of state’s family and friends. “*correction. I met the presidente's family and all their friends in the private meet and greet with all their security. They were very nice,” he wrote.

Bieber just released his single “PYD” with R. Kelly this week.
