The Bulls five-game winning streak ends, but their seven-game losing streak in Denver stays alive.
The Nuggets made it rain from three in this one. Nate Robinson and Jordan Hamilton each went back-to-back from trey at the start of the fourth quarter. Denver got a 10-point win over Chicago 97-87.
“We just couldn’t make any shots in the second half,” said Bulls point guard Derrick Rose. “They hit a lot of 3-pointers. I think we can learn from this. Playing against a team like this, we have to be disciplined and get back in transition.”
Rose had a game-high 19, but according to Chicago Tribune he only had four in the second half.
“I thought he had a great first half attacking -- great, quick, explosive moves,” Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said. “Good plays. Terrific defense. It’s coming. You can see it.”
The Nuggets had six players in double figures in Robinson (11), Hamilton (17), Randy Foye (12), Ty Lawson (10), Kenneth Faried (12), and J.J. Hixon (14). Robinson scored 10 of his 11 in the final period, ESPN reports.
"I've been battling little injuries, and been in a little slump, not wanting to take the shots I usually take just because I didn't want to miss them and hurt my team," said Robinson. "But I got to the stage where I'm like, `Forget it. Just play and be you.' I'm no longer going to worry about missing shots. I'm just going to shoot when I'm open and play aggressive, get my teammates involved and play as hard as I can for as long as I can and enjoy the minutes that I get."
