A variety of Hollywood's A-List attended the fifth annual Governors Awards Saturday Night. The award ceremony honored Steve Martin, Angelina Jolie and Angela Lansbury.
According to USA Today, Angelina Jolie received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Along with Jolie, Steve Martin, Angela Lansbury and costume designer Piero Tosi received career-honoring Oscars.
Jolie received the award for her work with the United Nations Refugee Agency. Her work with agency started when she was filming Lara Croft: Tomb Raider back in 2001. Jolie, has been very active in a variety of charities and the United Nations.
Angelina attended the awards ceremony with her fiancé Pitt and her son, Maddox.
George Lucas and Gena Rowlands were among those who paid tribute to Jolie. Lucas said that he met Jolie a long time ago and had said to her that the one true think you can do is have children. Lucas joked that he didn’t think Jolie would take his comment so seriously.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Brad Pitt, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Hanks and George Lucas attended the star-studded event.
