The Green Bay Packers injury list continues to grow as the team was forced to play their third string quarterback, Scott Tolzien, in Sunday's 27-13 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to ESPN, Packers quarterback Seneca Wallace injured his groin during their first possession of the game.
Head coach Mike McCarthy was proud of Tolzien's performance in the game. "I thought Scott did a heck of a job," McCarthy said. "We're running plays he hasn't even practiced yet. He comes here, and it's a totally different language from where he's been his first two stops. He has worked diligently on our language, transferring plays he's had in the past into how we do things, and for the most part he was seamless in the huddle. I thought his game management, especially for the amount of preparation he had going into this game, was outstanding."
The University of Wisconsin - Madison alum completed 24 of 38 passes for 280 yards with one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Not bad for his first regular season game in his three-year career.
CBS Sports reports that McCarthy announced that Tolzien will start in their match up with the New York Giants next week. "I thought Scott Tolzien played as well as can be expected," McCarthy said. "He'll start against the Giants."
Aaron Rodgers, who fractured his collarbone during last Monday's game, wasn't given a specific timetable for his return, but the earliest he could play would be Thanksgiving.
