In the upcoming film by Christian group I Am Second,The Robertsons, Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson and his wife, Miss Kay, open up about their previous marital struggles.
The couple, who have four children; Alan,Jase, Willie, and Jep, explain that Robertson’s drinking problem and extramarital affairs almost ended their marriage.
Miss Kay is heard explaining in the teaser that the “drinking got worse,” and from there, “I knew then, but I didn't want to believe it -- he was running around on me. And what I would tell my boys all the time is, 'That's not your daddy. That's the devil in your daddy.'"
The 30-minute film, due out Nov. 21, also features Kay also explaining that the lowest point for her was thinking of taking her own life after her husband accused her of cheating.
"For him just to say that...I think that's the most hopeless feeling I had," she said. "[I felt] like I could not save this marriage, I couldn't save him. I was obviously not feeling like I could rise above it,” she told Us Weekly.
For Phil, he said his lowest point was “when I ran Miss Kay and the kids off.”
"It got about as bad as it can get," Miss Kay said. But they ultimately got through it, and she admitted “when I gave myself to him, that was it.”
