Professional water skier Sara Teelow has died in a tragic accident. Teelow was participating in Australia’s Bridge-to-Bridge contest on the Hawkesbury River when her skis came off. She was airlifted to a nearby hospital with head and spinal injuries where she was put on life support but died a short time later. Teelow was 20-years-old and the daughter of championship water skier Tania Teelow.
According to a AP story ran by * the Huffington post*fans are shocked that Sara Teelow died in such an accident. The race’s organizers, Ski Racing Australia, have made a statement in which they give their regrets to Teelow, her family, her fans and the racing
community. Ski Racing Australia is fully cooperating with authorities.
Teelow’s boat driver made a statement that he saw her fall when she hit a
wake from another boat.
The * BBC* is saying Teelow’s friends and colleagues remember her as being happy and talented. "Everyone that met her knew her to be bright and bubbly, intelligent as well as an incredible athlete,” said her friend Elizabeth Brett.
