Azealia Banks has referred to herself as the female version of controversial Yeezus rapper and new dad Kanye West. She praised him in a new interview with Elle UK, saying they’re very similar.
Banks was interviewed for the December issue and talked about her similarities to the “I Am a God” rapper.
“Kanye is a genius. Kanye and I are like the same person but boy and girl. We’re pulling from the same cloud, the same inspiration,” she said.
“We’re both Geminis, we’re the two premier avant gardists in hip hop music. It’s just me and him. I think our consciousnesses are swirling around each other in some weird kind of way…”
Like West, the female rapper has been known for controversy in the past. After getting into a heated Twitter feud with hip-hop artist Angel Haze, she tweeted some homophobic slurs to Perez Hilton.
West is known for his rants, as well, most recently the one he launched against Jimmy Kimmel.
