Monroe and Miles frame the Patriots for the death of a Texas Ranger. However, they didn’t do a good enough job, because Monroe was arrested by both the Patriots and the Texas Rangers. He awaits execution by lethal injection and thinks about his girlfriend, Shelly, who was pregnant shortly after the Blackout. When she gave birth, it was stillborn. However, Monroe did have a child with Emma (Miles ex-girlfriend who was killed in a previous episode).
In prison, Monroe uses his last request to see Miles. His last request is that Miles find his son and take care of him. However, Miles already knew about the child and had been hiding him from Monroe because Monroe was dangerous. Rachel’s father is selected to prepare Monroe for execution. Rachel even hands the lethal syringe to him.
Tom and the ex-commander go in search of Jason, who has already been reprogrammed. Tom and the ex-commander are locked down in a bunker when Jason and a group of soldiers attack them. We learn that the ex-commander had her own son reprogrammed in Cuba. Her husband is high command, so he wanted to put the welfare of the nation above his own family. Tom tries to reason with Jason, but Jason still tries to kill him until the ex-commander knocks him out. Tom learns from Jason that his wife (Jason’s mother) was cheating on him.
The Texas Rangers signed a treaty with the US, giving the US sovereignty over Willoughby. Rachel’s father gave up Monroe’s location to prevent a war with Texas and he has been reporting to the US government about Rachel and Miles ever since thy arrived in Texas.
In the last seconds of the episode, we see Rachel beginning to dig up Monroe’s body. Why?!
