News Corp chairman Rupert Murdoch and his third wife, Wendi Deng, have reached an ‘amicable’ divorce settlement Wednesday. Murdoch filed for divorce from Deng in June.

Murdoch and Deng were married for 14 years before he filed for divorce in New York State Supreme Court in June. The New York Times first reported Tuesday that they had likely reached a settlement and that a court appearance was scheduled for this morning at 9:30 a.m. Both attended the hearing.

“I'm glad you were able to resolve these matters amicably,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Ellen Gesmer said during the hearing, reports The New York Daily News. Deng, 44, shook the hand of Murdoch’s lawyer and said goodbye to the 82-year-old media mogul before leaving.

They didn’t speak with the media as they left court and terms of the settlement were not announced. However, they issued a statement.

“We are pleased to announce that we have reached an amicable settlement of all matters relating to our divorce,” the former couple said. “We move forward with mutual respect and a shared interest in the health and happiness of our two daughters. We will not comment on this any further.”

The couple reportedly had trouble deciding who would get their $44 million Fifth Avenue apartment and their home in China. The NY Daily News’ source says that Deng will keep the New York apartment, since that’s where their girls live. They are the parents of Chloe, 10, and Grace, 11.
