The Santa Barbara International Film Festival has named Cate Blanchett the 2013 Outstanding Performer of the year.
Blanchett won the award for the Woody Allen film Blue Jasmine, HitFix reports.
SBIFF Executive Director Roger Durling said, "In her first collaboration with master director Woody Allen, Blanchett knocks it out of the park in the best performance of her already illustrious career." Durling added, "We're so grateful to be able to celebrate her achievement."
Blanchett will receive the honor on Feb. 1. The SBIFF runs from Jan. 30 to Feb. 9.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, her acting in Blue Jasmine has also placed Blanchett in the middle of Oscar buzz. Her work in the film also got her a tribute at the New York Film Festival.
The Coffee and Cigarettes actress has been honored before for her acting. She has been nominated five times for an Oscar. Nominations for her work include Best Actress for Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Blanchett was nominated for best supporting actress in Notes on a Scandal and I'm Not There. She won best supporting actress for The Aviator.
Blanchett will next be seen in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug later this year.
