Bumping into an ex might get awkward, but doing it in front of a live audience and on television might make things even more uncomfortable. But when it involves two comedians, they take it to another level. Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel broke up years ago, but she still had some of his old stuff, which she took with her to Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday to return.
Silverman and Kimmel dated for five years before they split in 2008. They did try again, but split for good in 2009, E! News notes. In July, Kimmel married Molly McNearney, who he began dating a short time after he split from Silverman.
“You heard about that huh?” Kimmel asked Silverman.
“I think somebody texted me or something,” she joked. Silverman then brought out a box of stuff marked “Jimmy’s things” and began pulling them out one by one to show the audience. She found an old toothbrush, socks and a Palm Treo charger before pulling out a huge pair of pants, which was a jab at his size while they dated.
“God I had such low left-esteem,” he said.
“That's a joke...I loved you! I loved you at your size,” responded Silverman.
Later, she showed off a collage of pictures during their time together and had one more really special item for Kimmel.
