Liz gets advice from Sean after he saves her from a situation when she discovered the guy she has been dating is married. Sean jokingly comments on how he gives Liz a lot of relationship advice, which causes Liz to feel their relationship is one-sided. To make Liz feel better, Sean lies about being turned down by a crush. Lorna jumps in the conversation and tells Liz Sean was turned down by his dry cleaner, Mr. Kim. Liz surprises Sean the next day at the office with Mr. Kim, telling Sean that she explained the situation to Mr. Kim, who in turn is interested in going on a date with Sean. Sean is so miserable on his date he lies to get out of the date early. When Mr. Kim pursues Sean even more at the office, Sean reveals to Liz that he lied to her. Liz ends up being the one to save Sean from his own situation!
Max decides he needs Hunter’s advice on picking up women. Hunter works with Max on approaching women, but after Max tries to portray himself to women as Hunter would, he fails miserably. Hunter explains to Max that he needs to find his own “approach” to women. While seeing Hunter talking to a woman at the bar, Max walks up to the woman and “saves” her from Hunter by telling a lie that Hunter is there every night meeting a different woman. The woman becomes interested in Max, and Max realizes he can be successful in talking to women.
Lorna reveals to Ellie that she has a crush on a man she sees regularly in the elevator, but feels she is out of his league since she always sees him with much younger women. Lorna takes Ellie’s advice and discusses the possibility of the two of them going on a date, much to his chagrin.
