Sean discusses the annual father/daughter costume for the family Christmas photo. When Ellie shows her disagreement for the event, Sean explains that sometimes children need to do things to make their parents happy. Lorna comes in and tells Sean her dance partner is nowhere to be found and the annual dance competition is coming up and she is in need of a partner. Sean tells Lorna that he will not be her partner, to which Ellie reminds Sean of what he just explained to her.
Sean reluctantly agrees to be Lorna's partner, but decides against it after Lorna constantly criticizes his dancing skills. Sean then makes a deal with Hunter that he will handle a difficult customer if Hunter will dance with Lorna in the competition. To Sean's surprise, Lorna thinks Hunter has great dancing skills which makes Sean jealous.
Sean decides to enter the dance competition with Liz as his partner. Max, who informs them that he was previously a choreographer in the military, coordinates a dance for the competition. Right as Sean and Liz are called to take the dance floor, Liz slips and falls leaving Sean without a partner.
Max decides to be Sean's partner, and the two end up winning the competition. Lorna is proud of Sean for winning and the two share a dance. Ellie witnesses Sean and Lorna's interaction and agrees to dress up for the annual Christmas photo.
