Selena Gomez had a budding music career with her band Selena Gomez and The Scene but took a break from band-dom and charted off on her own releasing her solo effort Stars Dance earlier this year and debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. What next? A world tour of course. She made her way to San Jose, CA to a sold out crowd at the SAP Center, and did not disappoint.

A red curtain came down and exposed a video of Selena sleeping at a desk on a constellation map. She stands in front of white doors as we visit into her dream and she opens one with stairs leading up a staircase. As she walks up on the video, the real Selena appears onstage and the 13,000 fans shriek in delight. In her first of 3 wardrobe changes, dressed in a white top and shorts, Selena hit the stage running for a 17-song, 75 minute set.

The openers, “Bang Bang Bang”, and “Round & Round” got the crowd going as Selena surrounding by dancers made her way around the stage, and out onto an “S” shaped catwalk. Gomez could really do no wrong with this crowd and gave a constant veteran-like performance, of course pulling most songs from Stars Dance and some, like the two openers, from her Selena Gomez and The Scene catalog. Highlights included “Stars Dance”, the ballad “Love Will Remember”, her song “Birthday” with a mix of Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake”, and a solid cover of Katy Perry’s “Roar”. The flow of the performance was very precise, a smart mix of peaks and valley, that Gomez make seem effortless.

"Every day, I'm told that I'm not good enough or sexy enough," said Gomez. "I have to tell you, the sexiest thing I know is class." A very classy young lady indeed; no twerking, no pot smoking, some of the things which has earned her the “anti-Miley” label, and that is definitely a good thing. Gomez definitely proved she’s more than just an actress, and is sure to have a long musical career.
