Kat Von D is known for being a glamorous tattoo artist, TV star and owner of High Voltage Tattoo. She is a woman of many talents and continues to assure fans of that notion with her makeup collection that can be found at Sephora. Recently Sephora has discontinued one of Von D’s lipstick “Celebutard” because the name has stirred up some controversy,

The lipstick is a pretty pinky nude color, but many believe the name of the product is insensitive to people with disabilities. Faith Bodnar from Inclusion BC, a provincial non-profit group, that helps people with developmental disabilities, told CTV News that the name is offensive as it references the word “retard.”

Bodnar said, “It should have never been on the shelves to begin with. It’s degrading and there’s no place for it.”

Sephora then released a statement to CTV News saying, “It has come to our attention that the name of one shade of lipstick we carry has caused offense to some of our clients and others. We are deeply sorry for that”

People reports that Von D went on Twitter to voice her opinion on the matter. She tweeted, “At the end of the day, it’s just a f—— lipstick.” Von D then deleted the tweet.

Do you think Sephora should have pulled the lipstick off the shelf? Let us know what you think.
