Shots were fired at Los Angeles International Airport's Terminal 3 and cops have the terminal surrounded and a suspect is supposedly in custody.

Details are still sketchy, but there are reports of a shooting and multiple injuries, Fox News reports. A witness claims that a person opened fire after making it through a security checkpoint.

L.A. has been put on tactical alert and fire officials said that there were multiple people with injuries at the site.

A writer for FoxSports, Bill Reiter, tweeted: "When gunfire broke out there was a stampede people, all of us hiding under seats we didn't fit under, we burst through the door to the outside."

According to USA Today, a TSA employee was shot at the security checkpoint.

The L.A. Police Department tweeted, "LAPD is now on TACTICAL ALERT due to a major incident." They shortly tweeted the alert for "South and West Bureau only."

Los Angeles Times is live reporting the shooting and have said that a man armed with a rifle opened fire at the checkpoint.

At 10:06 a.m., the LAPD confirmed that a suspect was in custody and two people were hurt during the event. LAX has also grounded all flights while the situation is sorted out.
