Simon Cowell should be a very happy man tonight, because he just signed a huge new deal with ITV. The deal was for a new three-year contract for his famous Saturday night shows, The X factor and Britain's Got Talent, and the money involved is massive.

For years now, Simon Cowell has been one of the richest men in Hollywood and in Great Britain. He has earned much of his wealth from creating talent base game shows. American audiences first became familiar with Cowell when he brought us American Idol, but he had already created this type of show back in England. Lately, however, his shows in Great Britain have been losing in the ratings to other talent competitions, but they are still extremely popular. That's why ITV re-signed Cowelll to a new deal, according to The Guardian. This three-year deal could be worth £150m ($240m) -- The Hollywood Reporter.

Cowell said "I am thrilled that we have extended our deal with ITV for Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor. They have been fantastic partners and we have some exciting new plans to take the shows to the next level." He will appear as a judge on at least one of the shows in the future.
