Sinead O’Connor is once again sharing her view on the music industry.
The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer previously had a feud with Miley Cyrus over her choices as an artist and being viewed as a sex symbol.
According to E! Online, O’Connor recently sat down with Time magazine and explained what the whole point of her feud with Cyrus was.
Specifically, the 46-year-old singer explained the kind of exploitation she experienced and referenced in her letters to the “Wrecking Ball” singer.
"Every single day. The music business is corrupt…It's full of nothing but vampires and pimps," O'Connor said. "What was more important that came out of the Miley thing was being able to conversate about mental health and human rights. I think she was actually very helpful. The two of us, without meaning to, did quite a good job in terms of creating conversation about something really, really important."
The Irish songstress also shared her thoughts on the actual music not being a priority in the music industry saying, “The sounds of the records and the videos and how artists look has all been taken over by the industry.” She continues, “In a way, music’s all been silenced. That’s why I feel strongly about the oversexualizing of young women.”
The Daily Mail reports that O’Connor is currently on her American Kindness Tour. She was recently spotted strolling the streets of Manhattan on Monday.
