Stephen Fry is set to return to host the EE British Academy Film Awards. This will mark the ninth time that Fry has emceed the events.
Fry is a well-known comedy, actor and writer in the U.K. Fry was seen in V for Vendetta and the most recent Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Fry spoke about his hosting job, explaining that despite being nervous, terrified and making a fool of himself, he looks forward to the annual event every year. Fry also detailed his love for the art of making movies; Fry said that film is one of the arts that spread the essence of our identity around the world. This admiration and love allows the BAFTA awards to take center stage on the world stage of film, honoring the best of the best in filmmaking.
The Hollywood Reporter added that the awards are set to air on February 16th and will be happening at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden.
Deadline reported that last year’s BAFTA ceremony scored the highest ratings’ for the awards ceremony since 2004.
The ceremony will be broadcasted on BBC One in the U.K. and in all major territories around the globe.
