Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at Ed Sheeran’s show in New York City on Friday night, wearing an “I heart Ed” T-shirt.

The “Red” singer dropped in at Sheeran’s show at Madison Square Garden and the two did a duet of their song “Everything Has Changed.” Sheeran asked her to join him when he discovered they would be in the same city – Swift was promoting her holiday collection for Keds.

Before the show, Swift, 23, told E! News, "He's one of my best friends.”

Swift and Sheeran likely got to know each other well when Sheeran opened for her during her Red tour from March and September.

MTV News notes Tori Kelly opened for Sheeran at Madison Square Garden, where he also debuted a new song.

He tweeted before the show, “1st date of MSG is today, then two more, then the two and a half year tour for this album is done. what a way to end it.”
