TBS had greenlit a new comedy pilot from The Office’s Steve Carell titled Tribeca.

The half hour comedy pilot will be executive produced by Carell, Deadline reports. His company Carousel Television will produce.

Thom Hinke, who greenlit the pilot, used to be the head of Carousel before moving to TBS to be the vice president of comedy in October. He was also the one who developed and sold the comedy to TBS.

Created by Carell and wife, Nancy Carell, Tribeca is a police procedural spoof based around Angie Tribeca. Tribeca is a 10-year veteran of Los Angeles Police Department’s Really Heinous Crimes Unit (RHCU). Her unit will investigate crimes and open themselves up a bit more than they really should as they do their best to solve crimes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tribeca being greenlit for a pilot follows in the footsteps of several other comedies in the works.

TBS also ordered pilots from Bill Engvall and Josh Heald. Engvall’s pilot is a comedy called Do It Yourself and Heald’s is currently untitled.

Carell’s Carousel recently sold Slide Show to Fox, which is an unscripted celebrity competition show.
