Teresa and Joe Giudice, stars of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey, are facing even more legal issues. After being indicted on 39 fraud charges in July, they were each indicted on one additional count of bank fraud and one count of loan application fraud on Monday.
Their newest charges allege that the couple, parents of four daughters, lied on a loan application and said Teresa was making $15,000 a month as a real estate agent but she was actually unemployed at the time.
USA Today reports that the Giudices, both 41, will be arraigned on Wednesday.
Both of their lawyers say they plan to plead not guilty on the new charges. "She looks forward to defending herself at the trial, scheduled for February 24, 2014. Beyond that, we will answer all of the charges in court, not out,” her lawyer, Henry Klingeman, said.
His lawyer, Miles Feinstein, added, "Our position is that it's really piling on.”
As we previously reported, the couple faces 50 years in jail for charges such as tax evasion, conspiring to illegally get mortgages and other loans from numerous banks, as well as conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.
