Marvel has shown that they can dominate the box office and create hit franchise after franchise. Iron Man has been one of the most successful franchises for Marvel to date, but not everyone is happy with the films. Actor, Terrence Howard has finally opened up about why he left Iron Man.
Extra TV reported that during a recent episode of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Howard was asked about why he left Iron Man. Howard was James “Rhodey” Rhodes in the first film.
Howard responded by saying, that when it was time for the second movie to move forward, the money had been taken up by Downey and in turn he was pushed out of the film. Howard added that he was offered less than expected for the second movie.
It was said that Howard helped Downey get the job of playing Iron Man. Howard added that he called “his friend” Downey, and didn’t get a call back for three months.
Moviefone added that Howard had a three picture contract already in place but the studio came back and offered him 1/8 of what they had contractually had for him.
Cohen asked Howard how he felt about Downey and Howard responded by saying that he has love for Downey.
Howard was replaced by actor, Don Cheadle in Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3.
