We open on the gang using a gospel choir to pitch to the group of execs for Peratis, a pill for erectile dysfunction. The execs love it.
Sydney tells Simon that he's been nominated for an Impact award but a high school crush of Sydney's, Josh Hayes, is also nominated. Sydney then suggests throwing a cocktail party in Simon's honor and inviting the other nominees. Zach, Andrew and Lauren then tease Sydney about just wanting to see the guy she was too scared to approach in high school.
Simon, Zach and Andrew are trying to come up with a Tagline for Peratis. Simon suggests calling his friend Simon Lancaster for ideas because he's had erectile dysfunction. The guys tease him about also needing the pill. Simon insists he's never used it and adds that he doesn't need to win the Impact Award to feel like a man.
Simon is in his office pretending to win the award. Lauren comes in and suggests campaigning for the award. She shows him idea of portraying him as a superhero in ads and billboards around the city. He loves the idea.
Sydney is getting all dolled up for the cocktail party. She shows Zach and Andrew her sno-globe, which plays The Bangles' song "Eternal Flame" and tells her high school fantasy of Josh kissing her.
Sydney mingles at the cocktail party. Simon tries to get her to take him away from talking to Bud, who is telling Simon about having only one testicle. Once they’re alone, Simon asks Sydney if he’ll be Bud in 10 years’ time. Sydney tells Simon that he won’t be and his getting nominated proves he’s still relevant. Then, Josh calls out to Sydney, he tells her he has to fulfill a promise he made to himself in high school and then kisses her. He then asks her to dance. As they’re dancing, Josh tells Sydney that he liked her in high school but whenever he saw her, she ran away from him. They danced into the night.
Sydney and Simon are walking to work on Monday. Sydney tells Simon how she and Josh spent the whole weekend together and watching Bones (NOTE: Buffy fans probably picked up on the fact that Bones stars David Boreanaz, who starred as Gellar’s love interest, Angel on Buffy.) and that she really likes him. Then, a bus goes by with an ad for Josh to win the Impact Award and then they see a billboard. Sydney is mortified that Josh stole the idea to campaign for the award.
Sydney goes to Josh’s ad agency and confronts him for stealing the idea to campaign for the Impact award. He apologizes and says he thought she’d be impressed since in their business, stealing is like a compliment. She replies that were other ways to impress her than “screwing over my father” and storms out.
Sydney is on the phone with the agency's lawyers trying to sue Josh and his ad agency for stealing the idea. Simon comes in and apologizes to Sydney about Josh. She tells him how much she liked him and how silly she feels. Simon sees she threw out the sno-globe, so he takes it out of the trash and tells Sydney that Josh might not have been “the one” for her, but that he’s out there. Sydney thanks him and says she still thinks he’ll win the Impact award.
The gang is all together having drinks. Simon didn’t win the Impact award. Sydney toasts Lauren for her campaigning idea. Lauren thanks her but wishes it didn’t help Josh win. Sydney then says that Simon “makes an impact on them every day” then they diss on the gift bags they got. Then, Zach asks Sydney to dance as the piano player starts playing “Eternal Flame.” Simon watches her having a good time and the waiter asks him if he needs anything. Simon replies while watching Sydney have fun that he “has everything he needs.”
