The top ten contestants on The Voice participated in a musical battle for the chance to move on in the competition. Following their live performances last night, the results were announced tonight. Two vocalists had to be sent home tonight, regardless of which team they are on.

Before the results were announced the show was filled with performances and special guests.

Jacquie Lee, Matthew Schuler and coach Christina Aguilera took to the stage to perform.

Carson Daly, interrupted the show by making a quick announcement. It is now confirmed that Adam Levine is People Magazine’s sexist man alive.

The first two vocalists saved were from Team Adam, James Wolpert. Joining Wolpert was Matthew Schuler from Team Christina.

James Wolpert, Kat Robichaud and Will Champlin took the stage to sing a classic, Fall Out Boy song, “Sugar We’re Going Down.”

Following that performance it was announced that moving on the competition would be, From Team Blake, Ray Boudreaux and from Team Adam, Will Champlin.

For the first time this season team Blake and their coach took to the stage for a performance. The all male team sang, “Sharp Dressed Man,” original sang by ZZ Top. This unique song choice helped to explain why Shelton was wearing a tie to the results show.

Following that performance, Tessanne Chin from Team Adam moved forward in the competition and Jacquie Lee from Team Christina. Every member of Team Christina and Team Adam moved forward to the top eight.

Tessanne Chin and Caroline Pennell took to the stage to perform a fun debut of “Royals.”

The next artist to advance was from Team Blake, Cole Vosbury. The bottom three vocalists were Pennell, Austin Jenckes and Robichaud.

The new instant feature could save one artist; this feature allows America to save the vocalist they think should move on in The Voice competition. Fans have to use the #VoiceSave with the name of the artist they want to save.

After the results had been calculated, it was announced that Caroline Pennell would be moving forward. Kat Robichaud and Austin Jenckes were sent home.
