The competition last night on The Voice was hotter than ever before. The eight vocalists will now become six. With one a few vocalists left on each team, every note counts.
The Voice reached two major milestones this week, since the show debuted back in 2011, it has received over 15 million downloads on iTunes and the vocal competition has reached over one million subscribers on YouTube.
Ellie Goulding, started off the show by performing her latest single, “Burn.”
The first artist to advance to the live show was Will Champlin from Team Adam.
The top eight took to the stage to perform a holiday special, “Let The Circle Be Unbroken.” Following that incredible performance it was announced that from Team Blake, Cole Vosbury would move on to the top six.
Taking a break from the results, Coach Cee Lo Green took to the stage to perform his latest single, “Amy.” The performance was complete with dancers in the air and some elaborate costumes.
After Green exited the stage and returned to his coaching chair, one more vocalist advanced to the top six, from Team Christina Jacquie Lee moved on.
Before the final vocalists were announced the top eight took to the stage to perform, a One Republic medley. Ryan Tedder who was a mentor on the Voice will work with the top three finalists to write an original finalist, the winner of this season will debut the song during the live finale.
Also advancing to the live show next week was Tessanne Chin and James Wolpert, both from Team Adam.
The bottom three artists included Ray Boudreaux, Caroline Pennell and Matthew Schuler. The instant save was used to save one of the bottom three artists. The instant save allows fans at home to use Twitter to save their favorite artist.
The final artist to join the top six was Matthew Schuler, sending Caroline Pennell and Ray Boudreaux home. This elimination has left team Cee Lo with no members.
