Plenty of new shows have been given the green light this week, including TBS’ Tribeca, an unscripted half-hour of cop comedy created by Steve Carell and wife, Nancy. Details can be found here. The show’s announcement made Wednesday comes just a month after another Carell production, Slide Show was picked up by FOX.

The same day ABC announced a new comedy featuring older, yet predictably unwiser, male retirees. Breaking the story, Deadline Hollywood compared the new sitcom endeavor to NBC’s highly successful Golden Girls series.

Comedy Central opens the proverbial doors to their digital content initiative using an internal operation known as CC studios. A total of six projects have been confirmed by the network including, Outside Amy Schumer, a behind-the-scenes version of her on-air program called, wait for it…Inside Amy Schumer. Here’s hoping Comedy Central made that decision while they were not watching Chelsea Handler’s suspiciously familiar behind-the-scenes follow-up to her own show, After Lately. Concentrating on the development of user-friendly funny, Comedy Central has high hopes of engaging the growing digital audiences with content fit for new entertainment platforms.

An even more user-friendly platform exists in live stand-up. Thankfully, Comedy Central has that covered for us, too! If you are in the mood for premium funny then be sure to check out the New York Comedy Festival happening right now!
