Elie Saab was born on July 4, 1964 in Beirut Lebanon. He launched his fashion label in 1982 at the young age of 18. Saab gained a following of high society members and international royalty before he ever designed for celebrities on the red carpet. His big break came at the Oscars in 2002, when he became the first Lebanese designer ever to dress an Academy Award winner, in this case, Halle Berry, who won Best Actress in a leading role in Monster’s Ball. From then on, Saab became a red carpet staple with an incredible celebrity following.
