Thanksgivukkah is a once in a lifetime event (last time it happened was in 1888) when Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah converge on the same day. When this phenomenon last happened, President Abraham Lincoln (yeah, that long ago) declared it a national holiday. The rare occurrence happens because the lunisolar Hebrew calendar (varies from 353 to 385 days) and the Gregorian calendar (a traditional 365 day calendar) are not synced the same, and Hanukkah and Thanksgiving are on different days every year. According to a quantum physicist, this won't happen again until the year 79811.

Like any celebration, there must be food - great food! With that being said, I am here to give a top 10 list of Thanksgivukkah recipes and foods to delight everyone.

10) Cranberry Applesauce

It's better than applesauce and has that tartness of cranberry. It takes the best of both dishes and fuses them together into one awesome, delicious and pretty healthy side that everyone will love.

9) Sweet Potato Latkes

If your mouth isn't watering just by those three words alone, then there is something seriously wrong. Take an already delicious latke, add the sweetness of a sweet potato casserole to it, and prepare to have your mind and taste buds blown.

8) Horse Radish-Chive Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are obviously a must for any holiday meal, Thanksgiving especially, but if we add horse radish and chives to the mix, these mashed taters not only become more rich and easier to eat more, but they also provide a decent kick to separate it from all other foods.

Take any cake you want - strawberry, raspberry, chocolate - and just put some classic Hanukkah gelt glaze on it for a sweet, delicious dessert. If you have room for dessert, that is.

2) Challah Cranberry Donut-Holes

Last challah one, I promise. But upon stumbling on treasure trove of challah, it's hard not to fall in love. The bread itself is yummy enough, but add sweet, tart cranberry and make them into donut-holes, that's one heck of an appetizer.
