CBS barely won Tuesday night, despite ABC’s Dancing with the Stars finale. Although CBS wasn’t helped by NCIS, the holiday classic Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer kept the network on top in the ratings. ABC did however, draw the most viewers.
ABC lead with 12.8 million viewers, but its 2.4 18-49 rating was behind CBS. Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD had 9.3 million viewers and a 2.5 18-49 rating, according to early numbers. that’s a 35 percent jump, notes HitFix. It’s surprising, but perhaps there are than many NCIS viewers who also like SHIELD but prefer to watch NCIS live.
The DWTS finale averaged 12.8 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating, which was down 20 percent from last fall, notes TheWrap. It’s also a series low finale.
CBS came in a close second with 11.8 million viewers and topped ABC in the demo with a 2.5 rating. Rudolph was up a bit from last year with 11.4 million viewers and a 3.0 18-49 rating (the top rating on the night) and NCIS: LA had 12.2 million and a 2.4 rating. Person of Interest finished the night with 11.7 million viewers and a 2.1 key demo rating.
NBC had 7.9 million viewers and a 2.3 18-49 rating. Biggest Loser had 6.6 million viewers and a 2.0 rating, while The Voice hit a new Tuesday low with just 10 million viewers and a 2.9 rating. Chicago Fire had 7 million viewers and a 2.1 key demo rating.
Over at Fox, its night of sitcoms averaged 3.3 million viewers and a 1.5. New Girl was the network’s top-rated show with a 1.9.
The CW’s Originals and Supernatural drew around 2.3 million viewers and scored 1.1 and 1.0 ratings, respectively.
