It was a fairly normal Thursday night in the ratings as CBS shows grew, while the CW's Vampire Diaries won its time slot, beating Parks and Recreation.
CBS easily took the night in both ratings and the demographic, HitFix reports. The network averaged a 2.5 in the 18-49 demographic and 10.55 million viewers. The Big Bang Theory improved upon its already strong numbers with a 5.1 in the demo and nearly 18 million viewers.
The Millers also saw mild growth for CBS at demo rating of 2.7. Similarly The Crazy Ones also improved to a 2.1 in the demo and Two in a Half Men was also up to a 2.1 rating. Elementary was the only program on the network to slip somewhat, down to a 1.6 rating in the demo.
ABC trailed a distant second with a 7.04 million viewer average and a 2.1 in the key demo. Once Upon a Time in Wonderland saw no improvement with its 0.9 demo. Grey's Anatomy was down slightly at a 2.6 and Scandal rebounded from last week to 2.9 in the demo.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox claimed bronze for the evening. The network averaged 4.9 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in the demo. X-Factor was up slightly to a 1.4 in the demo and Glee stayed steady at a 1.5 rating.
NBC welcomed back Parks and Recreation and the show pulled in a 1.2 rating between its two episodes. The network averaged 3.5 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. Sean Saves the World dropped to a 1.0 without its Voice lead-in. Michal J. Fox also had the same numbers. Parenthood was steady at 1.3 in the demo.
The CW averaged a 1.0 rating in the key demo and 2.2 million viewers for the night, but The Vampire Diaries managed to beat other 8 p.m. shows with a 1.3 rating. Reign slipped slightly to 0.6 for the demo.
