Lifetime announced that the network has renewed fantasy show Witches Of East End for a second season.

Witches Of East End was given a 13-episode second season order, which will debut in 2014, Deadline reports.

Witches follows a family of witches, played by Madchen Amick, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Rachel Boston, who live in the town of East Haven. The show is based on Melissa de la Cruz's popular book. The show averaged 3.0 million viewers in the Live+7 numbers during its first five weeks.

Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime Rob Sharenow said, "With its great story telling and amazing cast, Witches Of East End is leading a full-blown witch renaissance."

While Lifetime is moving forward with Witches, the network cancelled Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Client List at the beginning of November, as previously reported. The show had weaker ratings than Witches, averaging only 2 million viewers, which was down from 2.5 in its freshmen season.

Though the numbers weren't great, another possible reason for The Client List's cancellation had to do with creative differences. Hewitt wanted the show to go in a specific direction, making the father of her character's baby her fiance, but the creative team wasn't very interested in that.

Lifetime already picked up the network's other freshmen show Devious Maids for a second season.
