The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, with some help from Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana and Aziz Ansari, announced the nominations for the 71st Annual Golden Globe awards. There were plenty of surprises, with American Hustle and 12 Years A Slave leading the film categories. On the TV side, new shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Masters of Sex earned nominations.
Starting with the movies, Rush, Gravity, Captain Phillips, Philomena and 12 Years A Slave were nominated for Best Picture - Drama. The Best Picture - Comedy category features American Hustle, Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Nebraska and The Wolf of Wall Street.

The nominees in the Best TV Drama category are Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, The Good Wife, House of Cards and Showtime’s new Masters of Sex. The comedy/musical nominees are The Big Bang Theory, Girls, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation and Fox’s new Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Dancing on the Edge, Behind the Candelabra, American Horror Story: Coven, Top of the Lake and White Queen were nominated for Best Mini-Series/Movie for TV.
