Angelina Jolie’s personal plane has been grounded by the FAA. Jolie failed to renew the plane’s registration on time.
According to Fox News, the 38-year-old actress did not file a new airworthiness certificate for her Cirrus SR-22. The current certificate expired the 30th of June. Jolie’s team reportedly sent a renewal application to the agency but we’re told it didn’t arrive on time.
An FAA letter was sent to Jolie at the beginning of September, stating certification could not be renewed. However, flight records allegedly show the plane was flown this October but do not indicate who piloted it.
According to US Weekly, Jolie got her pilot's license in 2004 and took flying lessons on and off throughout the year, "When Maddox was one and a half, we used to go to the airfield have lunch, and watch the planes. And it dawned on me: I could fly. So I promised him I would fly by his second birthday."
