Anna Paquin, who is known for playing the role of Rouge in the X-Men franchise has been cut from the upcoming, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Entertainment Weekly reported that director Bryan Singer has cut Rouge from the film in post production.

The scene was shot early in the film's production and featured Magneto, Professor X, Rogue and Iceman. This was the only scene for Rogue in the upcoming film.

Singer explained his editing decision. “It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go ... Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it," said Singer.

The Huffington Post added that the scene was not cut due to anything regarding Paquin's acting, and that Singer called the actress himself to break the news and she completely understood.

Singer added that he would love to work with her in the future.
