Bob Barker, the legendary host of TV’s longest-running game show, The Price Is Right, is celebrating turning 90 today. He returned to the show, which is currently hosted by Drew Carey, and will appear on today’s episode.
CBS announced last month that all this week, The Price is Right is dedicated to Barker’s favorite cause, animal conservation. It will only be the second time since Carey took over after Barker’s retirement that the legendary host is visiting his old show.
During today’s episode, Barker will present a special showcase for one winner and will show off an adorable puppy that’s up for adoption.
According to USA Today, Barker also taped a new public service announcement for PETA. In it, he urges his fans to go vegetarian in order to help prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
“Eating meat means you have much greater chance of losing your mind,” Barker said. "Keep your wits about you and live to a ripe old age."
Meanwhile, CNN reports that Barker is also weighing in on politics. He recorded a commercial for David Jolly, who is running for the open Florida House seat. In the ad, he says that with Jolly, the “choice is right.” The ad will air during Thursday’s Price is Right on the local CBS affiliate.
Fans are also urged to wish Barker a happy birthday with the Twitter hashtag #HappyBithdayBob.
