Allan McKeown, a British television producer, died on Tuesday at age 67 following a battle with prostate cancer. He was the husband of British comedienne Tracey Ullman and co-created Tracey Takes On with her.

McKeown was a native of Ealing, England and started out in show business as a hairdresser. Variety reports that his clients included Michael Caine, Richard Burton and The Beatles. He also worked on hairstyles for films. However, he switched to being a producer of commercials and films. His production company, Witzend, later became SelecTV.

According to Entertainment Weekly, McKeown and Ullman married in 1983 and worked on Girls on Top and Tracey Ullman: A Class Act together. Their most recent production together was State of the Union, which aired on Showtime from 1008 to 2010.

McKeown and Ullman won an Emmy in 1997 for Tracey Takes On. The show earned three other nominations for Outstanding Comedy, Variety or Comedy Series. The series ran from 1996 to 1999.

He also worked in theater, winning an Olivier Award for Jerry Springer the Opera.

McKeown is survived by Ullman and their two children, Mabel and Johnny.
