Country star Ray Price has passed away at the age of 87, losing his battle with pancreatic cancer. Price was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and counts "For the Good Times” and "City Lights” as some of his biggest hits.
In the past year, Price was in and out of the hospital but was able to spend Thanksgiving Day at home with his family. He was re-admitted to the hospital on Dec. 2 but has since been released.
According to CMT, Price revealed he had cancer in 2012 and had been undergoing chemotherapy treatments for six months.
In his last interview that took place earlier this month, Price told Rolling Stone, "I just like what I've done and how it's worked out, and it's been great," adding, “I haven't lost my voice, thank God for that."
Price has a new album coming out, which he called “one of the greatest things I've ever recorded.”
He died in his home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on Sunday.
