Dallas News reports that Cagle was arrested at 2 a.m. Sunday morning in Greenville while driving on U.S. 69. The 45-year-old was spotted running a red light, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

According to the Associated Press, jail records from Tuesday do not list him as in custody, although the sheriff’s department did not give further details of the arrest.

Cagle did record Back in the Saddle last year, which had two Top 20 singles. Still, his best known songs are “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out” from 2001, the 2002 hit “What A Beautiful Day” and 2003’s “Chicks Dig It.” The 2001 hit topped the Billboard country music chart.

Taste Of Country does not that he has had issues with the law before. In 2008, he was arrested on domestic assault charges, just months after an altercation with a fan’s boyfriend. He has also talked about his struggles and in 2008, he said in an interview that he gave up drinking alcohol.

The AP said that reps for the singer didn’t comment on the arrest.
