There might be a lot of chaos surrounding him right now, but Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson made his wife, Miss Kay, happy this Christmas by giving her a wedding ring.

The couple’s granddaughter, Sadie Robertson, took to Twitter to share a photo of her grandparents in festive holiday clothes.

“After 50 years of marriage Papaw Phil finally gave Mamaw Kay a wedding ring for Christmas,” Sadie wrote.

Robertson was suspended from his A&E reality show for comments he gave to GQ magazine about homosexual and African American people. Although he’s been shown immense support from both public figures and fans, he’s been in a firestorm of controversy ever since.

However, he did break his silence on the matter during Bible study last Sunday, saying, “I love all men and women. I am a lover of humanity, not a hater. I will not give or back off from my path because you conquered death, Father, so we are not worried about all the repercussions.”
