The fifth season of Duck Dynasty is set to premiere on time. The show premieres January 15th on A&E with recently suspended Phil Robertson still appearing in quite a few episodes.

According to KTAL, 10 episodes of the show’s newest season were already filmed Robertson gave his interview to GQ Magazine. In his interview Robertson spoke ill of the gay community as well as said some ignorant things about the African American community.

"I never with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once," the reality star said. Robertson grew up in Louisiana before civil rights were established. "Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I'm with the blacks, because we're white trash. We're going across the field... They're singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person say, 'I tell you what: These doggone white people' - not a word!"

Many people have stated their support for A&E’s decision while others stand with Robertson’s. The Duck Dynasty family says they don’t think the show can continue without their patriarch. According to the LA Times, the Robertson’s were more than likely made to sign “moral clauses” to keep them from over-sharing on big issues, something that is typical in the entertainment industry.

A group by the name Faith Driven Consumer launched a petition, IStandWithPhil.com, to get Robertson put back on the show. The petition has over 139,712signatures and that number is rising.

Duck Dynasty usually brings in about nine million viewers per episode but that number may decrease with A&E’s suspension of the family patriarch.
