Fox said today that it has renewed MasterChef Junior for a second season. The show features celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who has hosted several others hows for the network.

MasterChef Junior is one of the few shows on television that the entire family can truly enjoy together, and I can’t wait to see what Gordon, Joe, Graham and the next round of rambunctious, ridiculously talented junior chefs cook up in Season Two,” Fox Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly said in a statement.

MasterChef Junior is a children’s edition of Ramsay’s other hit series MasterChef. Children from ages eight to 13 compete in culinary challenges that test their skills in the kitchen. Ramsay co-hosts the show with restaurateur Joe Bastianich and chef Graham Elliot.

The series wrapped its first season in September and averaged 5.1 million viewers over the summer. It frequently won its time period in several key demographics, including adults 18-49. The show also got a 50 percent boost from Live 7 numbers in the 18-49 demo after each episode’s original airing.

Ramsay and Fox have had close ties for years, as the temperamental chef powers the network’s summer line-up. When MasterChef Junior was first announced in May, Fox renewed Hell’s Kitchen for two more years. He has also hosted Hotel Hell and Kitchen Nightmares.
