Maxie interrupted Spinelli and Ellie at the apartment. Before she could find out what they were worried about doing to her she announced that Robin was alive. They told her they already knew because Mac stopped by looking for her and told Ellie. Maxie then said that she could handle anything now but worried that they had bad news. Ellie explained about her job offer in Portland and Spinelli's interest in joining her but they didn't want to take Connie away. Maxie thought Ellie should take the job and that Spinelli should take Connie and go since she'd be less tempted to break the law. She added that if he stayed, Connie could lose both her parents because she couldn’t keep away.

Robin introduced herself as Patrick's wife at Sabrina's door. Sabrina said she knew who she was. Robin realized Sabrina had a lot in common with Emma after learning Sabrina's mother died when she was young. She thanked Sabrina for taking care of Emma when she couldn't. Sabrina replied that she knew she couldn't replace Robin in Emma's life…or in Patrick's. Robin understood that Sabrina didn't replace her but knew she'd found a place in Patrick's heart. Robin admitted to Sabrina that she didn't go home with him after the wedding because Patrick didn't break things off with her. She told her that he couldn't make the decision and Robin wanted Sabrina to make it for him. “Let my husband go so I can have my family back,” Robin asked Sabrina, who said it wasn’t her decision to make, it was Patrick's. Robin reminded her that Patrick didn't want to hurt anyone and Sabrina should make him go back to his family if she loves him.

At the courthouse, Shawn confirmed that Carlos had no connection to Lily's family. Sonny was then ready to proceed as planned. Inside the courtroom, Michael advised AJ to listen to his lawyer after Diane warned him not to take the stand, AJ wanted the jury to hear the truth. Diane then refused to represent him if he didn't listen. He thanked her, and then fired her. Diane left and the judge asked AJ what he had to say. AJ said that he returned to Port Charles intending to be a better man and father, that he was until Connie wrote her article and then he spiraled out of control. He went on to say that after blacking out that night, he can't remember anything but taking the gun from Tracy's safe and going to Crimson, that he doesn't remember killing Connie and believed someone else could have. On cross examination Scott asked if AJ's intent was to kill Connie. AJ confessed that it was, but he didn't remember pulling the trigger. Later, AJ apologized to Michael for torpedoing his case but Michael thought AJ was amazing. Soon after, Scott announced the jury had reached a verdict.

At Carlos' apartment, Patrick promised Carlos that he'd be a dead man if he went near Sabrina. Carlos warned him that it would take more than Patrick to take him down. Patrick wasn’t impressed with his threats just because Carlos worked for the Jeromes. Carlos then said he planned to make Patrick look like the bad guy when he wiped the floor with him and that he’d be there to pick Sabrina up when Patrick was done torturing her. Patrick left. Later, Sonny and Shawn paid Carlos a visit.

At The Metro Court, Heather pulled a knife out of her bag. She jokingly apologized to Franco that Carly couldn't come to the phone right now when he called Carly's cell. Suddenly, Franco grabbed her as she approached the bathroom. He told her that he was sure she made the job offer call from the university to get him to leave. She denied it. Franco grabbed her knife and called her a miserable psycho. He wondered why she wasn’t locked up. She said she needed to come back and put an end to Carly. He reminded Heather that he warned her that he'd put an end to her if she ever harmed Carly. She said she didn't think Franco would do that to his own mother, but then he stabbed her. Heather touched his face with her bloodied hand and forgave him. She claimed she'd always love her son before collapsing on the bed. Franco fell on her and said he warned her. He didn't want Carly to know so he wrapped Heather up in the bedding. He had put Heather's body is in a laundry cart when Diane found him and asked him what he was doing. He claimed it was his new job. Alone on the elevator, he got Carly's message to "knock 'em dead" in the interview.

At General Hospital, Patrick pretended to be fine but Epiphany knew he wasn’t. She wondered who he went home with after the wedding. He confessed that he went home alone, that his love for Sabrina hasn't gone away but he that he loves Robin too. Epiphany told him that he was human to have all those feelings.

Carlos was on his knees at the cemetery while Sonny and Shawn taunted him. Sonny told him that Julian needed to stay alive to save Danny and Sonny promised Kiki that he wouldn't kill her mother so that left Carlos. Carlos told them to shoot, but they gave him shovel and Sonny said, "Start digging."

In the Metro Court parking garage, Lucy warned Franco that Heather was bad news and that he should do whatever it took to cut her from his life. Franco pulled the laundry cart to get away from her but Lucy's next topic was Scott. She wanted Franco to take another stab at getting to know him. She rushed off to talk to Scott after Franco told her that Scott told him to keep his distance. Once alone, Franco was left pondering how he had more important things than “father” on his mind. After putting Heather in his trunk, he repeated that he'd do anything to keep Carly safe. He held the knife and realized that his ability to kill wasn't gone. It was still there for when he needed it.

In Julian's room, Ava was worried about Carlos because he hadn’t been seen or heard from. Julian thought he must be pining over Sabrina, but Ava couldn’t shake the bad feeling. Julian then mentioned something Sam said to him about Lucas not wanting anything to do with him. Ava wondered who Lucas was. Julian said that he needed to find out and wondered if Ava had another sibling. The only Lucas that Ava knew was Lucas Lorenzo Spencer. Julian thought Sam was talking about family and Ava told him to ask Sam.

Carly was surprised to find Sam at Franco's hotel room door and tried to get rid of her. Sam told her that she accidently said something to Julian about Lucas but didn’t think Julian knew much. Carly thought it was enough to make him suspicious. Sam wanted to know how Lucas took the news that Julian was his father but Carly didn’t want to talk about it. Sam realized the bellboy directed her to Franco's room and noticed the dinner for two. She wondered how Carly could do this after what Franco had done. Carly replied that she’s seen that Franco has changed.

In the courtroom, Michael reached out to AJ before the verdict was read and said, "No matter what happens I love you." AJ was shocked when he heard the words "Not guilty." Scott was certain it was a mistake. Michael knew Diane was right about there not being enough evidence to convict. The judge reprimanded Scott for his outburst at the jury before announcing that AJ was free to go. Scott told AJ that he'd have to live with what he did.

At the Quartermaine's, Luke wanted to know what riled Monica up. Tracy reminded him AJ was on trial and the verdict was in. She gloated that it was curtains for AJ after he murdered her friend Connie. Luke confirmed that Tiffany administered the cure to Sean and he thought Ava Jerome helped Jerry disappear. Tracy wanted him to stay out of it since he almost died recently. Luke quipped, "I'm all better." He opened champagne and told Spanky it was time to savor the good. She said she would savor getting Monica out of the house. Then, Monica walked in with AJ close behind. Tracy and Luke decided to go celebrate somewhere else. Monica thought AJ should celebrate being found non-guilty. Michael confided to Kiki that Sonny wasn’t going to be happy. Later, AJ drank alone after watching the news and that the jury thought he was guilty but there wasn’t evidence to convict him.

Sonny wasn’t ready to shoot Carlos yet and handed him a shovel to dig his own grave in the cemetery. Carlos didn’t think Sonny wanted to do this but he told Carlos to dig. Sonny told him when to stop and Carlos begged him not to do this because he could be valuable to Sonny. Sonny said he could this now that he knew Carlos wasn't related to Lily. When Sonny wasn’t interested in talking anymore he shouted at Shawn to end it. Then, Carlos screamed that he was Lily's brother. Shawn was certain he was lying as Carlos relayed his story and asked if Sonny loved Lily, would he kill her brother? Sonny needed proof and decided to put him someplace safe until then.

Later, Franco said "thanks" to the heavens when he found a dug grave after dragging Heather's body through the cemetery. He pushed her in and buried her. Then, Carly called and asks, "What's taking so long." He didn’t see Heather's hand unearth itself as he walked away. Nearby, Sonny took Michael's call and learned that AJ was free. Michael asked him not to take the law into his own hands. Then, Sonny kneeled in front of Lily's grave and promised not to kill Carlos unless he was sure.

Scott faked a toast to the jury in his room when Lucy arrived. She was disappointed in how Scott treated Franco. Scott offered her a drink so she would stop talking about Franco's tumor. He thought Franco needed a shrink, not a father. Lucy thought Franco was in a bad place and needed guidance now that he was pushing around a laundry cart. Scott blurted out that he was a lost the case and that he couldn't deal with Franco. He then added that he’d lost everything except her and told her to go home to Kevin. Lucy told him that she moved out and that her marriage was over. Scott then kissed her and they slept together.

At The Metro Court, Carly asked Franco what was wrong when he woke up from a nightmare of himself burying Heather. She thought she knew what it was about but he silenced her with kisses. She remembered he'd had nightmares when he though she was going to run off on him. Franco replied that it was about what he did last night. He claimed he messed up his interview because of his past. Carly called the tumor the killer, not him, and tried to figure out what he should do next. Franco left and Carly called someone for help.

In Anna's room, Robin said Patrick would bring them home soon. Emma asked, "What about Sabrina?" Then, Patrick arrived. He evaded Emma when she questioned if he was there to take them home. Robin asked if he'd spoken to Sabrina after he admitted that he still hadn't figured things out. He knew she wanted her family back but things have changed. Robin calmly agreed that she did want her family back and left. Patrick tried to explain to Emma how things were complicated. Emma thought they should be a family with both Robin and Sabrina. Patrick pinky-swore that it would all be sorted out before Christmas so Santa could find her.

Meanwhile, Duke got off the elevator in the parking garage and was greeted by Kevin. He was looking for Lucy. Duke advised him to check Scott's room since she had been working with him a lot. Nearby, Anna met Robert and asked if everything was taken care of. Robert thought no one would find Faison or know what they did with him. It was good for Anna, because she didn't want Duke to know and was concerned about what could happen to Robin and her family if what they did got out. Robert thought Anna was wound tight and said they just needed to practice their poker faces. Anna planned on taking what they did to her grave. Then, Duke found them and said, "I know what you did" and that Anna told him everything about Robert faking Julian's death. Robert said he did it to protect Anna and had no control over Julian coming to Port Charles. Duke trusted the PCPD can handle Jerome now that Faison was handled. Robert replied, "Trust me; you ain't never going to hear from him again."

Upstairs in Scott's room, Lucy shut off the alarm and told Doc he was going to be late. She was surprised when Scott rolled over and said good morning. She hit her head repeatedly and said, "Wake up Lucy." Surely they didn't have sex. Scott confesses that they did…several times since she told him her marriage was over. Lucy rushed to find clothes as Scott reflected that she could do better, maybe with him. Lucy tried to figure out what Scott wanted. He said he’d like her to be his gal and he could be her guy since Laura was long gone and she was always by his side. He was about to kiss her when Kevin banged on the door. Scott wanted to face the music but Lucy ran and hid to avoid hurting Kevin. Scott got the door and was sorry for Kevin's troubles. Lucy overheard Kevin say he planned to save their marriage and wanted Scott to tell Lucy that he loved her.

Nikolas asked who P.K. Sinclair was when a special delivery addressed to him arrived at Wyndemere. Britt replied, "My father." She didn’t think he should open it but he did. It was Heather's Egg Salad Sandwich painting. Later, Elizabeth arrived with Ben and Spencer and Britt took them away. Once they were alone, Elizabeth asked Nikolas what Britt was still doing there. Nikolas said he was sure Britt had changed and was giving her a chance despite her advice. Britt overheard the conversation and smiled when Nikolas agreed with Elizabeth that they were a couple. Elizabeth admitted that she and Britt had a lot in common and didn’t think she'd changed yet. Then, Britt entered and Elizabeth left. Britt confirmed that she heard Nikolas right about them being a couple and they kissed.

At GH, Felix was proud that Sabrina left Patrick and Carlos behind to yearn in her wake. She said she didn’t care and that she was going to tell Patrick it was over. Felix didn’t think she should walk away but she thought it was the right thing to do. Felix asked, "Says who?" She admitted Robin did and Felix asked her not to let Robin cajole her into doing something she didn't want to do. Then, Robin interrupted. She thought they had an understanding and told Sabrina to go to Patrick now. Sabrina refused and said the choice was up to Patrick. Robin thought it will end badly for Sabrina because Patrick wanted her and she shouldn't deny it.

Elsewhere, Franco hung up Kevin's phone and told him that he needed his help when he entered his office.

Spinelli fawned over Connie at the penthouse and told Sam that he might be moving to Portland. He wished someone would tell him what to do. If Sam had her way she'd tell him not to go because Port Charles was his home. Sam thought Ellie was perfect for him but he wondered if he could leave everyone else behind.

Robin got an excited hug from Maxie when she dropped by the apartment. She hoped Maxie told Spinelli “no way” when she learned he might move to Portland with Connie but Maxie admitted to encouraging him to go. Robin shared how Sabrina wouldn't bow out, thinking it was Patrick's decision to choose one of them. She told Maxie how worried she was that Patrick could choose Sabrina. Maxie believed when Patrick made his decision then Robin would know how he much he loves her and only her. Robin surprised Spinelli when she got the door. They hugged then Maxie reiterated that he should go to Portland.

Sonny commented on Dante's frustration at the gym as he pounded the punching bag. Dante said that he knew it would be hard to lose Connie but he didn't realize he might lose his marriage too. He told Sonny that Lulu blamed him for their loss and she'd never understand why he did what he did. Sonny thought winning custody was a long shot. Dante wanted to help Lulu and was sad that he was dealing with his grief on his own. Sonny understood and reminded him, "You got me," but knew Dante would figure it out.

Carly was surprised to learn Lulu lost Connie when she stops by. They packed up Connie's things as Lulu explained what happened at trial. She told Carly that she blamed Dante for them losing custody when he told the judge that she lied. Lulu was surprised Carly wasn’t laughing at her after how Dante got Michael sent to prison. Carly then admitted that things had changed between her and Franco, that he’d hit rock bottom and needed a job. Was there one at the Haunted Star? Lulu clarified that she wanted her to hire someone who strapped her to a bomb and threatened to blow her up. Carly blamed that on the brain tumor. Lulu agreed to think about it. Before leaving she wanted Lulu to remember that she and Dante needed each other. Later, Dante came home and thought they could fix things by having another baby.

Franco grabbed Kevin's phone and hung it up for him at General Hospital. He begged Kevin for his help and thought he'd go insane if he didn’t tell someone what he did. Kevin confirmed their discussion was confidential before Franco admitted that he killed his mother. Kevin had heard Heather was his mother and told him that he knew his father, Scott who used to be married to his wife Lucy. Franco wondered what she ever saw in that “cold fish of a jerk” but Kevin wanted to talk about Heather. Franco complained about Heather's obsession with Carly and how she threatened her with cryptic messages and dead roses. He told Kevin that he found her yesterday preparing to kill Carly but he stabbed her during their argument and that he had to kill Heather to save Carly. Kevin agreed that he had no choice and questioned whether the police agreed. Franco said he didn't tell the police, that he buried her in the cemetery and expressed how weird it was that there was already a freshly dug grave there waiting for him. Kevin said he couldn’t divulge anything unless Franco was a danger to someone else or to himself. Franco worried that because his mother was psychotic he was too. Kevin said he knew Scott wasn't but Franco didn't find Scott to be the poster boy for compassion either. Kevin thought his killing Heather was an isolated incident and they'd learn more in future seasons. Franco was relieved since Carly was the best thing that happened to him and he didn't want to lose her.

At The Metro Court, Scott wanted to know why Lucy wanted to find Kevin and tell him they slept together. Lucy said she overheard all the nice things Kevin said about her and she wants to fix their marriage too. Scott then asked her if what they did last night meant anything to her. She said it did, but they could only ever be friends. Scott agreed they could be, but didn't think she should tell Kevin they slept together. If she did, it would hurt them all and Kevin wouldn’t let them see each other.

Later, Carly startled Franco in the hall. He confessed talking to someone who gave him some hope after she asked about his job search.

Lucy went to Kevin's office and Kevin grabbed her. He told her that he wanted to fix their marriage and she said she did too. Then, they kissed and promised that no one would ever come between them.

At the Lulu and Dante’s, Dante told Lulu that he'd like them to have another baby. Lulu thought it was terrible that he was trying to replace Connie. He replied that he didn’t want them to be stuck in the past and was eager to start over again. He added that it would be easier this time since they have frozen embryos at the lab. Lulu was scared, but Dante reminded her that she was a Spencer who had taken many risks to get what she wanted before. She agreed to take a leap of faith and they kissed.

At the lab, Spinelli agreed to go to Portland with Ellie and didn't think she should give up the job for Maxie. Ellie confessed that her employers wanted her to start tomorrow and they'd have to leave tonight. Spinelli was taken aback and Ellie asked if he was having second thoughts. He said he wasn’t, it was just the reality was hitting him that he was leaving his home but he knew they would make new memories in Portland. She called to accept the job and prepared for her last day at work at GH. Later, Dante and Lulu learned Ellie was leaving for Portland when they came about their frozen embryos. Ellie felt parental pride and would be so happy to start their baby in her lab. Suddenly she said, "That's strange…the embryos, they're gone."

Silas greeted Sam with a "Ho, ho, ho," in a Santa hat at the penthouse. She didn't think it was his style but the hat wasn’t for show and he showed Sam that he brought a tree. On cue, Rafe and Taylor carried it in. Silas asked Rafe if things were serious with Taylor. He admitted that he couldn't change Molly's mind. Nearby, Sam questioned Taylor's interest in Rafe and noticed she only seems interested when TJ and Molly were around. Molly and TJ arrived and Taylor joined Rafe by the tree. Sam and Silas watched as Taylor and Rafe sported their couple-act, which annoyed TJ and Molly. Then, Molly blurted out that they should admit their relationship was fake. Sam and Silas left to have cocoa while the non-couples argued. Molly and TJ started bickering and Rafe confessed that their relationship was fake, but their act worked.

Spinelli arrived later to say goodbye and wished he had time for proper goodbyes to “Mr. Corinthos, Diane, Lulu, a lot of people.” When Sam and Silas were alone she reflected on her previous Christmas after Jason died. He was sorry to force her into something she wasn’t ready for but Sam admitted that she was glad he showed up. They gazed upon the star after she hung it on the tree.

Mac and Felicia brought a small tree to Maxie's and gave her an extra set of reindeer antlers to wear with them. She knew they were trying to cheer her up. Felicia realized it would take strength to keep away from Connie. Maxie then said it wouldn't be a problem since Spinelli was leaving Port Charles with Connie. Felicia was sorry Maxie wouldn't get to say goodbye but promised they'd have a great Christmas. Later, Spinelli arrived with Connie after they've left because he wanted Maxie to see her daughter.

At Wyndemere, Spencer thought their tree was the best. Britt went to get candy canes with him and Lesley admitted to Nikolas that she'd never been more upset with anyone since the time she learned Monica was sleeping with her husband. Nikolas asked for her forgiveness for lying about Faison and she agreed. Spencer returned with Britt and told Nikolas that he knew what he wanted for Christmas…for Nikolas to marry Britt. Nikolas reminded him that his Christmas list was pretty long and he should save marrying Britt for another time. After lighting the tree, Lesley announced that Uncle Sonny has gifts for Spencer. Before they left, Nikolas re-gifted Heather's Egg Salad Sandwich painting from Faison and gave it to Lesley. Alone, Britt and Nikolas wrapped gifts and discussed family. Britt said she never enjoyed the holidays because Obrecht always gave her empty presents wrapped in newspaper and twine. It made Nikolas grateful for how lucky he was. Nikolas blamed Alfred when Britt ended up under the mistletoe. She didn't want to disappoint and they kissed passionately. Nikolas thought he had the perfect hiding place for the presents and asked if Britt was ready. She was but needed to tell him something first about Ben.

Olivia kissed Sonny at the gym. He was upset that Dante and Lulu lost the baby and shared their grief after losing his Connie. Olivia was happy to see the relationship that Sonny and Dante had built and was sorry they couldn't have had it sooner because of her. Sonny said he knew Olivia did was best and she raised a great son. Lesley and Spencer found the couple kissing. Spencer rushed off with Sonny to open presents. Olivia told Lesley that she didn't mind the interruption and thought this is just want Sonny needed. Sonny helped Spencer put on his new boxing gloves and promised to teach him how to box.
