The Jacksonville Jaguars are continuing to show improvement this season after beating the Cleveland Browns 32-28 on Sunday and picking up their third win of the season. The Jaguars improve their overall record to 3-9; they are now 3-1 since starting the season 0-8. The Jaguars have picked up all three victories on the road and with each win, the team is building more confidence.
The Jaguars defense continues to improve, but the secondary took a step back this week as Cleveland receiver Josh Gordon had another outstanding week. Gordon had 10 catches for 261 yards and two touchdowns. Gordon thought he had scored the go ahead touchdown when he caught a 95 yard touchdown pass with under four minutes left in the game. Chad Henne led the Jags down to the field and connected on a 20-yard touchdown pass to Cecil Shorts III with under a minute to go to lock in a Jaguars victory.
Josh Gordon is continuing an impressive season and according to ESPN, Gordon needs only 41 more yards to set the Browns record for yards receiving in a single season. Maurice Jones-Drew ran the ball 23 times for 77 rushing yards. The highlight of the game for MJD came when he threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Tight End Marcedes Lewis to tie the game in the second quarter.
SB Nation talks about how the Jaguars seem to be coming to life in the second half of the season and how in this game the Browns made too many offensive mistakes that ultimately helped the Jags get the victory. Cleveland and Jacksonville have both had problems at quarterback this season. Chad Henne led two long drives that ended with touchdowns for the Jags while Brandon Weeden had a horrible finish to the 1st half, with two interceptions and a fumble.
